Partneruniversities

Pforzheim University has over 100 partner universities with over 200 exchange programmes to enable its students to spend a semester abroad in 45 countries.

Depending on the faculty and the degree programme you are studying, you have various options for a semester abroad.

Overview of partner universities

In the following overview you will find all partner universities of the three schools of Pforzheim University incl. language and grade requirements. For detailed information, for example, semester dates or courses, please search for the corresponding university in the partner database.

Partner universities are universities with which Pforzheim University has a written agreement for an exchange. It is agreed that a certain number of students from one university can study abroad at the other university and vice versa.

In most countries, unlike in Germany, studying abroad is not free of charge and sometimes involves high tuition fees.
With this agreement, tuition fees are waived for Pforzheim students at these universities. In addition, Pforzheim University supports you in the organisation of your studies abroad and acts as your intermediary to the partner university.

You can filter our database by your degree program. Then it will display all available exchange programs. These vary depending on the faculty, degree program, and level of study (bachelor’s or master’s).

What should you generally consider when making your choice?

  1. Information in the partner database and on the partner university’s website
  2. Study Reports and talk with exchange students in Pforzheim
  3. Semester dates – Many partner institutions start the summer semester as early as January, and in some cases the winter semester as early as July
  4. Required language skills – English? Spanish? French?
  5. Course offerings - recognition in Pforzheim & areas of interest
  6. Campus selection -  Some partner universities, especially in France, have more than one campus. Campus options are listed in the details, if available
  7. Priorities - Minimum 1, maximum 6
  8. Estimated costs & Available Scholarships – a large portion of the costs depends on housing & travel. Based on experience, partners with dormitory housing, in smaller cities, or in more affordable countries tend to be cheaper

Since the summer semester of 2023 we have been using the Mobility Online database . Here you find a variety of personal experiences written by former students.
