Over the past 40 years, the EU’s education programmes have become key instruments for the internationalisation of German universities. The funding opportunities offered by the Erasmus, Erasmus Mundus, Tempus and other programmes have provided lasting support for academic cooperation between universities and the mobility of their staff and students within Europe and beyond.

The EU’s Erasmus+ education programme for 2021–2027 focuses on social inclusion, the green and digital transitions, and promoting young people’s participation in democratic life. Key Action 131 primarily supports physical mobility, although blended mobility is also possible. The following mobility activities are funded under Key Action 131:

 

The Erasmus+ programme enables not only Europeans to study, undertake further training and gain experience abroad, but also participants from outside the European Union. Since 2015, individuals and organisations from all over the world have been able to take part in Erasmus+ mobility schemes in the field of higher education.
Under the KA171 funding line, European higher education institutions can enter into mobility agreements with partners around the world to send and receive students and staff.

Pforzheim University currently has the following ongoing projects under KA171 with the following countries and partner universities: 

Project 2023:

Period: 1 August 2023 – 31 July 2026

Region: Southern Mediterranean countries (Region 3)

Countries: Morocco and Palestine

Partner universities: ESCA Ecole de Management (Casablanca), Al-Quds University (Jerusalem)

Funding for: Incoming students and teaching staff (Students are chosen by their home university)

 

Project 2024

Period: 1 August 2024 – 31 July 2027

Regions: Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa

Countries: Indonesia and Senegal

Partner universities: ITB - Institut Teknologi Bandung, UGM – Gadjah Mada University (Yogyakarta), Groupe Supdeco Dakar

Funding: Incoming students and teaching staff (Students are chosen by their home university)

 

 

 

 

The Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE) sets out the fundamental principles and minimum requirements that higher education institutions must meet when applying for and carrying out activities under the Erasmus+ programme. Any higher education institution that wishes to apply for or participate in the Erasmus+ programme must hold a valid ECHE.
