Dear first-year students,
We warmly welcome you as a new member of the university! We look forward to welcoming you to campus soon: The official welcome by the Rector, Professor Dr. Ulrich Jautz, will take place for all faculties on Monday, October 5, 2026, at 11 a.m. in the Audimax at Tiefenbronner Straße 65. Afterward, you’ll have the opportunity to get to know the student initiatives at an info fair on campus.
The commeo initiative is organizing an orientation phase with many events at the start of the semester! You’ll receive information about the program from commeo via email.
We wish you a great start! All information regarding registration is available here.
Important: The preparatory courses and the SIK program begin before the official welcome. Registration is available starting in early July via ILIAS (https://vka.hs-pforzheim.de/ilias/public). Further details can be found here.
You can find more information about the start of the semester on the schools websites:

🚌 Traveling by bus
The School of Design is located in the immediate vicinity of downtown Pforzheim. Due to this location, there are no parking spaces—but the faculty is easily accessible by bus, bicycle, or on foot. The same applies to Transportation Design on Eutinger Straße.
Bus stop: Hochschule für Gestaltung, Pforzheim | Line 6
The School of Engineering & Technology and the Business School are located on the southern outskirts of Pforzheim. The bus stops right at the campus on Tiefenbronner Straße.
Bus stop: Hochschule/Wildpark, Pforzheim | Line 5
🚗 Traveling by car
A limited number of parking spaces are available below the library on the campus on Tiefenbronner Straße. There are also well-lit women’s parking spaces there. Note: Please park only in the designated areas and be mindful of the spaces that must be kept clear as fire department access routes.
In addition to these parking spaces, the Wildpark parking lot is available during the lecture period (Monday through Friday). Please note: This applies only to P2 and P3 and only during weeks when regular lectures are held (after the exam periods until the start of lectures, parking there is subject to a fee).
You can easily create your timetable in the lecture plan. To do this, go to this link: Create lecture plan.
If you are unsure how to do this, you can find a step-by-step guide here that explains everything in detail: How to create a timetable.
