Dear first semester student,

we would like to welcome you as a new member of the University! We look forward to welcoming you to campus soon: The official welcome by the Rector, Professor Dr. Ulrich Jautz, will take place for all faculties on March 17, 2024 at 11 a.m. in the Audimax, Tiefenbronner Straße 65. Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to get to know the student initiatives at an information bazaar on campus.

The commeo initiative organizes an O-Phase with many events at the beginning of the semester! You will receive information about the program from commeo via email.

We wish you a good start!

You can find more information about the start of the semester and the preliminary courses for your degree program on the websites of the schools:

Good to know!

Our university has several campuses:

  • School of Design incl. Mensa & Cafeteria: Holzgartenstraße 36
Note: Transportation Design is located at Eutinger Straße 111.
  • School of Engineering: Tiefenbronner Straße 66
  • Business School incl. Administration, University Library, Mensa, Cafeteria and Audimax: Tiefenbronner Straße 65

To help you find your way around a little better, we have created a small reel on Instagram.

Travelling by bus

The School of Design is located in the immediate vicinity of Pforzheim city centre. Due to this location, there are no parking spaces - but the faculty is easily accessible by bus, bicycle or on foot. The same is true for Transportation Design in Eutinger Straße.

The School of Engineering and the Business School are located on the southern outskirts of Pforzheim. Bus line 5 stops directly at the campus on Tiefenbronner Straße.

Travelling by car

A limited number of parking spaces are available below the library on the campus in Tiefenbronner Straße. There are also well-lit parking lots for women. Please note: Please park only in the marked areas and be aware of the areas that must be kept clear as access routes for the fire department.

In addition to these car parks, the wildlife car park is available during the lecture period (Monday to Friday). Please note: However, this only applies to P2 and P3 and only during the weeks in which regular lectures take place (after the examination phases until the start of lectures, parking there is subject to a charge).

In addition to these parking lots, the Wildlife Parking Lot is available during the lecture period (Monday through Friday). Please note: This only applies to P2 and P3 and only during weeks when classes are in session (after exams and until classes start, parking there is charged).

A tip: Use the carpooling app of the universit! It is only accessible to members of the university and you can both search for a ride and offer a ride as a driver.
