In Germany, all students are required to have health insurance. Students enrolled at state-recognized universities are required to have health insurance until the age of 30. The insurance obligation begins with the semester of first enrollment.

In order to enroll at Pforzheim University, you must provide proof of valid health insurance. This will be sent to us electronically by your health insurance company. Please contact your health insurance company prior to submitting your enrollment documents and arrange for the health insurance company to be notified.

Important note! The reference number for the automated data exchange is H0002143.

Note for privately insured individuals:
If you are privately insured (yourself or as a family member), you do not need to notify your private health insurance company. In this case, we need a notification from a public health insurance company that you are exempt from the public health insurance requirement. This notification is also made by electronic message, which you should arrange with a public health insurance company before enrolling.

If you are unsure, please contact your health insurance company directly.
