Experience the USA with Fulbright Germany!

Not only in Europe are there generous scholarships for intensive further education. The German-American Fulbright Commission (Fulbright Germany) promotes international understanding through academic exchange. As the only binational exchange organization in Germany with a US focus, they award around 700 scholarships each year for study, research, teaching and further education in the USA and Germany.

Which scholarships are offered?

  • Doctoral programmm: Deepen your doctoral project in the USA and build up
    academic networks.

Funding opportunities for congress and lecture trips

 

The DAAD supports the active participation of scientists and academics in international congresses and lecture tours abroad with its programs for congress and lecture tours:

Check the program descriptions and the FAQs below in advance to see whether you are eligible for funding.

 

Difference congress trips VS. lecture tours:

You select the program line "Congress trips" if the organizers invite with a call for papers and thus give all interested parties the opportunity to register for participation. This also applies if you are invited individually.
You select the "Lecture tours" program line for events without a publicly accessible call for papers or for stand-alone lectures in front of a larger audience.

 

Important notes:

  • General: Long-term center of life must be in Germany; all the websites are in German
  • Application Congress Travel & HAW.International Congress Travel: Some documents must be submitted 4 months (120 days) before the start of the event.

Teaching & Research abroad

The International Faculty Week connects faculty members from our partner universities all over the world, providing the opportunity to teach in a multicultural environment while engaging with TEC students from all areas and networking with international colleagues. This program is an opportunity for international professors to experience teaching at Mexico’s top private university

Job shadowing at partner universities

Through our exchange agreements, there is also the opportunity to job shadow at one of our partner universities. This allows you to learn more about your field of work at a foreign university. You might gain new ideas for your own everyday work life.

We will be happy to put you in touch with the International Office of the partner university. The stay is possible subject to approval by the local supervisors and the available budget.

This immersive ten-day program (December 8 to 17, 2025) is supported by Fapesp (Brazil Research Foundation) through its São Paulo School of Advanced Science initiative. It brings together an international cohort of students and researchers committed to developing transformative solutions for sustainability and systemic change.

 The program is open to:

  • Senior undergraduate students involved in research projects
  • MBA students
  • Master’s and PhD students
  • Early-career postdoctoral researchers 

Participation is free of charge. Selected candidates will receive full scholarships covering travel, accommodation, and meals for the entire duration of the program.

 Applications are open until August 15, 2025.

This always takes place on Tuesdays to Thursdays from 11:00 to 12:30 & Thursdays 14.00-15.00 in room W1.2.13 or by phone at 07231-286876. You do not need to register in advance for this. During lecture-free periods & outside of office hours you can make an appointment by mail in advance. 

Online Team Meetings are available with an appointment as well.
