AI+ Certificate

Artificial intelligence (AI) and large language models (LLMs) are increasingly shaping our everyday lives. The importance of AI and LLMs is also growing rapidly in the workplace, making AI skills crucial for all students.

The AI+ Certificate from Pforzheim University offers students in all degree programs the opportunity to build digital skills and gain practical knowledge in working with AI systems and language models. This prepares our students for the future.

The program teaches skills in the following areas:

  • Fundamentals/Understanding (Literacy): Understanding what AI is, how it works, and where its limitations lie.
  • Application/Use (Competency): The ability to use AI tools in a meaningful, reflective, and goal-oriented manner.
  • Design/Judgment (Agency): The ability to actively shape AI, critically evaluate it, and integrate it into one’s own contexts.

The AI+ Certificate is:

  • Open: The program is open to students from all disciplines and degree programs.
  • Modular: AI-related courses, projects, practical work, open online courses, university instructional videos, and much more are recognized.
  • Flexible: You can start at any time, and the time commitment can be freely distributed throughout your studies.
  • Extracurricular: The requirements are completed in an interdisciplinary manner and independently of the student’s major.
  • Visible: The competencies are certified in a university certificate and can thus be demonstrated, for example, in the job market.
