Information on the Cyberattack on the HSZ

As of October 23, 2026

As you know, the Inter-University Computing Center (HSZ) continues to be affected by the consequences of the cyberattack. Since we have been receiving an increasing number of inquiries from students and staff regarding this matter, we have compiled the most important information on the current status for you.

The FAQs and additional information will be displayed to students, staff, and professors once you have logged in (login field in the top right corner [desktop] or top left corner [mobile]).

Due to the cyberattack, we currently do not have access to our campus management system.

What does this mean for you?

At this time, various functions and documents are unavailable. These include, in particular:

  • Certificates of enrollment and enrollment certificates;
  • Transcripts and academic performance reports;
  • Other certificates and study-related documents provided through the campus management system.

How long will these restrictions last?

At this time, we cannot provide a reliable estimate of when the Campus Management System will be fully available again.

How can you stay informed?

We will keep you informed about further developments and the restoration of the affected services through our official communication channels, particularly the university website, via email, and through our social media channels.

Please also refer to the FAQs regarding the cyberattack, which are regularly updated and supplemented with new information.

Who is affected by the cyberattack?

Currently, several universities in Baden-Württemberg are affected by the cyberattack.

Due to the current system outage, our application portal is unfortunately unavailable. Below you will find information on the revised application processes, broken down by the respective admission requirements:

Bachelor’s programs at the School of Engineering and Technology with open admission:

You can download the enrollment application form from our website. The form lists all the necessary information and required documents; please send us the completed and signed application, along with all required supporting documents. Enrollment is thereby considered complete; as soon as access to the systems is restored, we will enter the data retroactively.

Bachelor’s degree programs at the School of Design with open admission:

Applications for these programs are submitted via the School of Design’s portfolio portal; registration at hochschulstart.de is not required.

Detailed instructions on how to submit an application can be found on the school’s website.

Bachelor's programs with limited admission in the Schools of Engineering and Technology and Business and Law:

Information on this will follow.

Master’s degree programs in the Schools of Engineering and Technology and Business and Law:

Information on this will follow.

On the evening of October 7, 2026, a cyberattack was detected at the Baden-Württemberg Higher Education Service Center (HSZ-BW). As part of the security measures implemented, the HSZ-BW’s systems were temporarily taken offline.

For this reason, electronic invoices (e-invoices) cannot currently be processed.

We therefore ask that you refrain from submitting e-invoices until further notice and instead send your invoices as PDF files to Pforzheim University’s designated email address: rechnungen(at)hs-pforzheim(dot)de.

We thank you for your understanding and will provide an update here as soon as the processing of e-invoices is possible again.
