Life cycle assessment workshop 2025
With the motto "From Life Cycle Assessment to Life Cycle Sustainability Assessment!?", the 20th Life Cycle Assessment Workshop from September 24 to 26, 2025 will address current developments and challenges in life cycle-related sustainability assessment.
In the face of diverse global challenges - such as climate change, resource scarcity and biodiversity loss - as well as increasing social challenges, the need for holistic assessment methods is constantly growing. Life cycle-based approaches are responding to this by developing integrated indicators, methods and databases that take ecological, economic and social aspects into account together. For some years now, science and practice have been pursuing the goal of a comprehensive Life Cycle Sustainability Assessment (LCSA). However, there are still many methodological, conceptual and practical challenges on the way to broad application, which need to be discussed and jointly addressed.
We look forward to contributions from young scientists on this topic - but also from other LCA subject areas. The LCA workshop is thematically open and we invite all participants to give a talk or present a poster.

26.09.2025: 9 am - 3 pm keynotes and parallel sessions
The accepted presentations will be divided into matching thematic blocks. They will be rounded off by scientific keynotes and an active exchange of information and opinions.
The detailed program is expected to be available at the end of August 2025.
Conference fee: 150 euros
A conference fee of 150 euros is charged for participation in the ÖBW. This includes the costs for food and drinks during the entire event, including a joint evening event.
Overnight stays and an optional evening event on the day of arrival are not included and must be organized and paid for by the participants themselves.
