Lecture Series Artefakte invites Zentrum für Politische Schönheit
Event 12/09/2025 18:30 - Aula der Fakultät für Gestaltung

"Höcke's Holocaust Memorial": In 2017, the Center for Political Beauty erected 24 concrete steles in Bornhagen, Thuringia - on a rented plot of land next to the house of Björn Höcke, chairman of the AfD parliamentary group in the Thuringian state parliament. The installation is modeled on the Holocaust memorial in Berlin. (Photo: Center for Political Beauty)
On December 9, the School of Design invites the artist collective “Zentrum für Politische Schönheit” to Pforzheim.
The Holocaust memorial in front of Björn Höcke's house, a fictitious distribution service for AfD flyers, the disruption of the summer interview with AfD chairwoman Alice Weidel or a projection of Elon Musk with an outstretched right arm on the façade of the Tesla factory: the Center for Political Beauty (Zentrum für Politische Schönheit) regularly causes a stir with actions like these. The group of action artists wants to fight for "radical humanism" – with imagination and poetry.
On December 9, we welcome a representative of the Center for Political Beauty to Pforzheim: as part of the "Artefakte" event series, the School of Design at Pforzheim University has invited the artists' collective to talk about artistic freedom and the threat of right-wing extremism in Germany.
