Claus Lang-Koetz focuses on the integration of sustainability aspects into strategic and organizational-methodical aspects of technology and innovation management. To this end, he regularly acquires third-party funds for research projects, which he conducts together with industrial companies and renowned research institutes.
The focus of his research group at the Institute of Industrial Ecology
is on the following topics:
•   Integrated innovation and sustainability analysis in the development of eco-innovations, together with technical development partners from industry and research (in innovation projects with several partners)
•   Integration of sustainability aspects into the innovation management of companies and practical design of innovation methods for small and medium-sized enterprises (focus on organization, processes and methods for innovation in companies)
•   Novel innovation principles for the development of sustainable products and solutions such as business model innovation for Circular Economy and frugal innovations
•   Technology potential analyses and studies: Identification and evaluation of new technologies and assessment of possible environmental impacts in economy and society
