Guest Lecture by Dr. Rachel Behrmann (Georgia Tech) in the “Strategic Management” Course
Prof. Dr. Rachel Behrmann offered students a guest lecture

With just a few sharp sentences, Dr. Rachel Behrmann, professor of economics at the renowned Georgia Institute of Technology, captured the essence of strategic thinking: “Companies operating in perfect competition focus on pricing and distribution policies. But when the number of competitors shrinks and only a few major players remain, that’s when strategy begins. That’s when you need concepts.”

As a guest speaker in the "Strategic Management" course, Dr. Behrmann offered students a compelling explanation of when and why strategy becomes vital in business — namely, when staying relevant and competitive over the long term requires more than tactical moves. At that point, structured concepts and strategic thinking become essential.

Originally from the U.S., Dr. Behrmann teaches economics at Georgia Institute of Technology's School of Economics, a leading research institution in the U.S. Before moving to Atlanta, she lived and worked in Texas. Her research explores health economics impacts of public policy.

“Dr. Behrmann’s contribution was truly enriching,” one participant noted. “Her economic perspective added a valuable new dimension to how we think about strategy.”

The course “Strategic Management” is led by Professor Saldsieder.
