Summa cum laude for a doctorate on the potential and environmental impact of the cascade utilisation of wood

Our MLICS alumna Pia Szichta has successfully defended her doctorate at the School of Life Sciences at the Technical University of Munich. The oral examination was awarded summa cum laude.
Pia Szichta first completed the Master's degree programme in Life Cycle & Sustainability (MLiCS) before moving to the TU Munich to do her doctorate. In her dissertation, she analysed the potential and environmental impacts associated with the cascading use of wood in Germany - a topic of high social relevance at the interface of sustainability, resource efficiency and climate protection.
Her work was accompanied by Prof Dr Ingela Tietze, who supported her both professionally and personally as a mentor. We are proud of this impressive success and are delighted to have accompanied Pia on her academic journey!
