When an NPC becomes a hero: The twelfth edition of KoKi zockt! features "Free Guy", a fast-paced gamer comedy that combines elements from The Lego Movie, Ready Player One and The Truman Show. In the lead role: Ryan Reynolds as Guy, a good-natured bank employee who discovers that he is merely a marginal character in the video game "Free City".

As an NPC (non-player character) confronted with a world without borders, Guy decides to become the hero of his story in his own special way. Thus begins his mad pursuit of his own life and nothing less than the salvation of his world. With cameo appearances by the most influential characters from the world of video games!

The film will be shown in the original English version with subtitles.

The KoKi zockt! event series is a cooperation between the Kommunales Kino and the School of Design at Pforzheim University. It builds bridges between gaming culture and the big screen - with extraordinary film evenings and exciting discussions.
