Miriam van der Ham will be a guest in Prof. Dr. Evelyn Echle's "History/fashion" seminar on Wednesday, 3 December. The Pforzheim alumna is a fashion designer, costume designer and founder of the Berlin label mvdham, which stands for exclusive urban outdoor fashion. With her label, she wants to be "uncompromisingly sustainable and made in Germany" and stand for functionality and timeless design. "Only natural fibers such as wool, silk and functional cotton are used. The quilted collection is dyed by hand in Berlin with great attention to detail, in some cases even with vegetable dyes," says Miriam van der Ham.

Miriam van der Ham studied fashion at Pforzheim University and has worked with Danish designer Henrik Vibskov and for international fashion and outdoor brands, among others. In addition to her work as a fashion designer, she is also active as a costume designer for film and television - for productions such as the Netflix series "How to Sell Drugs Online (Fast)", which has received numerous national and international awards.

In the talk, Miriam will provide insights into her interdisciplinary work between fashion and costume - and talk about the challenges and opportunities of true sustainability in today's textile industry.

The lecture will be held in german and is open to all interested parties. It will start on 03.12.2025 at 9 am in room G1.013.
