The excursion week to Stockholm is one of the special highlights of studying at Pforzheim University. For an entire week, the students had the opportunity to get to know one of the most innovative and liveable metropolitan regions in Europe and to deal intensively with topics relating to digitalization, sustainability and modern working environments. The trip offered a unique combination of company visits, cultural impressions and personal development.
The trip began with a joint kick-off meeting, which set the scene for a week of learning, exchange and discovery. On the very first day, the participants gained an impression of the city and its open, international atmosphere. A visit to the Royal Palace and initial explorations of the old town Gamla Stan allowed them to experience Stockholm's historical and cultural perspectives first-hand. The mixture of program points and free time also gave the students the opportunity to discover the city independently and get to know the Scandinavian way of life with its emphasis on design, clarity and conscious use of nature and resources.
A central component of the excursion was the company visits, which offered concrete insights into current challenges and innovation processes. During the visit to Gullersgroup Stockholm, the students learned how communication strategies are developed and implemented in an international environment. The discussions focused on brand management, digital campaigns, the role of modern media in companies and the skills that are becoming increasingly important for communication professions.
The visit to Oatly Malmö was particularly impressive. The students gained insights into sustainability, brand strategy and modern production processes. They learned how an international company combines ecological, economic and social goals. The discussions made it clear how responsible product development can be combined with a strong brand profile.
Another highlight of the week was the visit to Ericsson. As one of the world's leading technology companies in the field of communication infrastructure, Ericsson gave the students insights into future-oriented technologies, international research activities and current developments in the field of 5G. The discussions on site made it clear how strongly Stockholm is characterized by a pronounced culture of innovation and what skills future specialists will need in this environment.
The program was complemented by a visit to the Vasa Museum, a boat tour in the archipelago, walks through the city and joint activities in the evening. These elements strengthened cohesion within the group and promoted exchange between students from different semesters.
The Stockholm excursion week impressively demonstrated how enriching study trips can be in a European context. The students took new knowledge, international contacts and diverse experiences back to Pforzheim. Above all, they gained a better understanding of how modern societies and companies shape the future. For many of the participants, the trip was a defining moment in their studies, providing lasting inspiration and guidance for future projects, internships and career steps.
