German Design Graduates 2025: "Dare to Design - Spaces of Care" with graduate Eva Grünebaum

What happens when design gets involved? What role does it play between democratic erosion and ecological crises? From September 4 to October 12, the German Design Graduates initiative, sponsored by the German Design Council, is showing the annual exhibition "Dare to Design - Spaces of Care" at the Museum of Applied Arts Cologne (MAKK).

45 projects and concepts by young design talents are dedicated to the pressing issues and socio-political challenges of the present day. Among them is Eva Grünebaum, a Bachelor's graduate in Industrial Design, with her final project "Inclusive Perspectives - playfully into an inclusive future", a game that changes the way we look at everyday life with visual impairments. Its rules are challenging and make limitations tangible. The game mechanics force players to adapt, as all participants play without sight. They play inclusively and with the same prerequisites. It is not about performance, but about a change of perspective. Design does not simulate restrictions, but actively demands empathy.
