Alumna Melanie Malz

Melanie Malz completed her bachelor's degree in Business Administration / International Marketing at Business School Pforzheim in 2018. She currently works as a project manager at Ravensburger in the "Puzzle Build Create" division, bringing new toy projects to life. After completing a master's degree in Amsterdam and working in Munich, Melanie Malz moved back to her home on Lake Constance in 2021, where she lives with her partner and their puppy.

My best memory of Pforzheim University is definitely...
working on university initiatives and participating in their events. It was always a great opportunity to meet new people. I fondly remember searching for doorbell signs during the "Running Dinner."

In my current job, I benefit from my studies in
... a truly broad education. No job is strictly one thing or the other, so it's an advantage to have gained insight into different areas. If you want to work internationally, you also benefit greatly from semesters abroad and close cooperation with students from other countries.

A typical working day as a project manager at Ravensburger...
No two days are the same—which is what makes the job so exciting. Every product is different, which presents a new challenge every day. But when you see it under a child's Christmas tree? The pride is unbeatable!

I start my day with
... a coffee in bed, if I'm lucky and my partner gets up before me. Then I take our puppy outside—who then goes back to sleep while I work. Mean, really. 😊

My tip for students:
Take in everything you can. You never know which contact might pay off later. Of course, there will be setbacks here and there, but they will lead to you learning even more. Oh, and: In the end, no one will ask if it took two attempts to pass the exam.
