In October 2023, the European legislature adopted Directive (EU) 2023/2225 on consumer credit agreements. On April 17, 2026, the Bundestag enacted a national law to implement this directive. In her new article, “Current Developments in Leasing Law,” NJW 2026, 1469, Prof. Dr. Simone Harriehausen addresses, among other things, the question of what impact this new law has on leasing law, particularly on consumer leasing contracts.
