Continuing the company visit culture, which is an essential part of the curriculum for the MBA Program at Hochschule Pforzheim, the first semester students went on an excursion to visit “TRUMPF”.

A family owned company founded in 1923, TRUMPF is the market and technology leader in machine tools and lasers for industrial manufacturing, and is shaping almost every sector with their innovations. It aims at developing advanced production technology, making it not only digitally connected, but also even more economical, precise and future-proof. Employing more than 13400 people in their 77 Production and Sales & Service Subsidiaries around the globe, TRUMPF is playing a positive role in building the industrial world of tomorrow.
The company visit was scheduled at TRUMPF headquarters in Ditzingen, Germany. The excursion initiated with a very warm welcome from Melanie Bulgrin and Jonathan Götz, HR Partners of the organisation. They further proceeded with a formal introductory session of the company, where they provided insights about their short term and long term futuristic goals and how they prepare to realize them. Later, Mr. Andreas Taraba took the lead for the SYNCHRO Tour to showcase the advanced production system of the company. He walked the students through the campus to show the facilities for sheet metal processing and laser component production. He explained every minute detail regarding the process flow of the organisation in digitalising the operations to achieve maximum output, not only for TRUMPF but also for its customers.
After a remarkable campus tour, the session was taken over by Franziska Reim, an Executive of the Change Management Department. She explained the concept of Industry 4.0 and how TRUMPF is realizing it with the help of Digital transformation tools for a smart factory such as Tru-Connect and AXOOM. She also explained the strategic policies for achieving the Digital Transformation goals of the organization.
TRUMPF offers a range of career options such as working student, internships, master’s thesis, international internships, graduate leadership program, direct entry and further more for experienced professionals. Students were also briefed about these opportunities, both during studies and after completion. The session ended with a small photo-shoot with the company employees and discussions about the present openings, application and hiring process of the organisation.
