(07231) 28-6328Patrick Kraus ist Professor für Controlling an der Hochschule Pforzheim. Er studierte Controlling an der Hochschule Pforzheim und promovierte an der University of Chester in Großbritannien. Im Rahmen seiner Dissertation beschäftigte er sich mit der Ausgestaltung einer nachhaltigen Unternehmensführung in mittelständischen Unternehmen. Seine Forschungsschwerpunkte umfassen die Gebiete Nachhaltigkeit, CSR, Controlling und Digitale Transformation insbesondere auch mit Bezug zu kleineren und mittleren Unternehmen (KMU). Er ist Associate Editor beim International Journal of Organizational Analysis und Mitglied im Editorial Review Board des Journal of Global Responsibility.
Vor seiner Rückkehr an die Hochschule Pforzheim arbeitete Patrick Kraus als Berater im Controlling-Umfeld bei KPMG und leitete zuletzt drei Jahre den Finanzbereich der USU Software AG. Hierbei beschäftigte er sich insbesondere mit dem Aufbau eines Konzerncontrollings. In diesem Zuge verantwortete er die Einführung und Weiterentwicklung eines konzernweiten Unternehmensplanungssystems und Berichtswesens und forcierte darüber hinaus auch die weitere Digitalisierung des Finanzbereichs.
Die Lehrtätigkeit von Patrick Kraus umfasst primär Veranstaltungen aus den Gebieten Controlling, Unternehmensplanung und Kostenrechnung. Seit dem Jahr 2010 beschäftigt sich Patrick Kraus auch mit Nachhaltigkeitsthemen, insbesondere im Kontext von KMU. Dies führte u. a. zu Veröffentlichungen im Journal of Global Responsibility (2012) und jüngst in Entrepreneurship & Regional Development (2020). Durch seine Zeit in der Softwarebranche beschäftigte er sich mit Aspekten der Digitalisierung und digitalen Geschäftsmodellen. Ein zukünftiger Forschungsschwerpunkt wird daher auch im Themenbereich der Digitalen Transformation der Controlling-Funktion liegen und wie digitale Geschäftsmodelle zielgerichtet gesteuert werden können. So veröffentlichte er erst kürzlich mit einem Kollegen zusammen einen Konferenzbeitrag, der sich mit Robotic Process Automation befasst. Patrick Kraus arbeitet auch gerne empirisch und verwendet in seinen Forschungsprojekten, mit nationalen und internationalen Kollegen, primär Qualitative Forschungsmethoden.
