One such expert is Mr. Thomas Müller-Schwemer, the Partner, and Managing Director of Management Business Group (MBG), a renowned consultancy specializing in technology and innovation management. Recently, Mr. Müller-Schwemer was a guest in the MBA classroom, to share his knowledge and experience with the MBA students.
With a degree in Business Administration from Mannheim University and a Master of Science degree from the State University of Stony Brook in New York, USA, Mr. Müller-Schwemer embarked on his entrepreneurial journey by founding MBG in 2006. Before this milestone, he honed his skills as the Managing Partner of MC Technology Marketing GmbH. With this  impressive background and years of expertise in the field, his insights proofed to be very valuable for the MBA students.
During the guest session, Mr. Müller-Schwemer delved into several critical topics, leaving the students with a treasure of knowledge. The discussion centered around commercialization methodologies, with a focus on effective strategies for transforming innovative ideas into profitable ventures. Mr. Müller-Schwemer also emphasized the importance of strategic business development methods, utilizing business scouting, design, and acceleration to drive growth and success.
Furthermore, he captivated the audience with a discussion on exemplary potential growth markets arising from the megatrend of sustainability. Understanding the significance of sustainability in  today's business landscape is crucial, and Mr. Müller-Schwemer's insights shed light on identifying and capitalizing on these emerging opportunities. Another intriguing topic covered was the monetization of sustainable products, highlighting the additional benefits for manufacturers who embrace sustainability as a core aspect of their offerings.
To further enhance the learning experience, Mr. Müller-Schwemer provided a hands-on opportunity. He assigned the MBA students a hypothetical business case, challenging them   to conduct a market analysis and develop a delivery project. With his guidance and provision of resources, the students eagerly embraced the task. Upon completion, each group presented their findings to Mr. Müller-Schwemer, who shared his valuable insights and feedback. This interactive session provided the students with a practical application of the knowledge they had gained, cementing their understanding of innovation and business cases and preparing them for future challenges.
