Experiencing the MBA: a Journey of Discovery and Growth

Returning to university to study abroad after working for several years can be an exciting and yet challenging experience. In this winter semester twenty students from Tanzania, China, India, Vietnam, Nepal and Kenia have taken up the challenge to go back to classroom to persue their next career goal by earning an MBA degree.
Coming from diverse professional backgrounds, the new MBA student´s work experience does not only give them a unique and mature perspective on their studies. It also enables them to draw from real-world experience, relate academic concepts to practical situations, and contribute valuable insights in class discussions. 
Looking back on the first month of their studies at Pforzheim University Avik from India states that the initial weeks have been about self-reflection, realigning his career goals and personal aspirations and getting the most out of all the opportunities the program provides for him. For Fei from China the MBA program “unfolded as an unexpected adventure, surpassing expectations and weaving academic orientation that sets the stage for a transformative learning journey.” Dilip from India adds that he is eagerly awaiting the next lectures, since the combination of supportive non-academic experiences such as team-building events, Guest in Classroom talks and workshops and rigorous academic challenges have made his first weeks in the MBA an incredibly fulfilling journey. 
Besides business classes from various fields, the MBA also allows its students to enhance specific soft skills for their future career advancement and provides them with numerous networking possibilities to expose them to diverse perspectives enabling them to broaden their network of contacts for their future careers.
