Transportation Design student as speaker at the Automotive Interior & Intuitive Vehicles Summit

What will the interior of tomorrow's mobility look like? Govardhan Gauranga, a Master's graduate in Transportation Design, provided answers to these questions at this year's Automotive Interior & Intuitive Vehicles Summit in Böblingen near Stuttgart.
As part of the Student Club, he presented his Master's thesis together with two other students: entitled "Third space meets urban mobility", Gauranga showed how the vehicle interior is developing into a third living space.
His concept is a response to the increasing loss of public spaces in urban areas. The focus is on a vehicle as a public retreat and meeting place that can be ordered as a service and delivered to wherever it is needed. The cabin has an open design: A continuous, walk-on floor promotes freedom of movement and social interaction. Different seating areas offer adapted comfort, depending on how long the user spends in the vehicle. This turns the vehicle itself into a versatile space for sharing, meeting and relaxing.
Participating in the summit offered Gauranga and the other students an exclusive platform to present their projects to an international audience of experts and make valuable industry contacts. Organized by RedCabin, the event brought together international experts from the automotive industry in Europe, Asia and the USA, including representatives from Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar Land Rover, Stellantis, Toyota Motor Europe, BYD Europe, KIA and many more. The presentations were dedicated to a wide range of topics from interior design and human-machine interaction (HMI), such as AI-supported interfaces, intent-based voice control and brand-specific sound design in vehicles.
