Short overview
As a graduate of the Master study program Embedded Systems you are able to create embedded computer systems. You have the capability to:
- solve complex tasks, eg to conduct research-based development assignments
- to direct development projects or
- to take overall responsibility for technical matters in smaller companies
Your sound technical training will also enable you to work in the field of
- sales and distribution or
- product management of technically complex products
Your postgraduate Masters degree gives you the opportunity to work in a management position in industry or within the civil service.
The Master study program Embedded Systems comprises 3 semesters: the first two theoretical semesters contain the following modules:
- system design
- hardware design
- software design as well as
- signal design and information transfer.
Through these modules you will acquire the skills required to create embedded computer systems.
These modules include theoretical and consolidation lectures as well as practical training in the laboratory.
In order to develop IT supported products students also need interdisciplinary qualifications which they acquire in the project management and legal aspects modules as well as through their chosen options. Further consolidation is acquired through project work and their chosen specialist elective.
You can choose your specialist module from a wide range of subjects on the following topic areas:
- automation systems
- communication systems
- information systems
- algorithms
In their third semester students demonstrate their ability to work independently on a scientific topic through their final paper (Master thesis). They have the option to do this at Pforzheim University or complete it in an industrial company.
