University Convention of the VWI
National German Conference at Pforzheim University
The student body of the locally established university groups of the Association of Industrial Engineers (VWI e.V.) meet twice a year for a nationwide conference. The University Convention (HGV) of industrial engineering students took place at Pforzheim University this spring.
This gathering of the VWI gave its members an excellent opportunity to exchange information with other groups as well as hold student elections. Furthermore, the participants were able to form new contacts as well as strengthen the network of the VWI. This not only enabled them to contact their peers but also various companies and organisations. During the HGV there were company presentations and a forum in which participants and potential employers were able to initiate first contact.
Representatives from 35 universities took part in the five-day event. Together with the student representatives of the VWI board, the national team and the alumni there were over 100 VWI members.
As at each HGV event the agenda was rounded off with a cultural and evening program. Alongside a tour of “gold town” Pforzheim and a look at the student nightlife a visit to the traditional Stuttgart spring festival was also on the agenda.
