Study Industrial Engineering at Pforzheim University– an excellent choice!
The international program in the top flight
The latest results of the University rankings compiled by the CHE (Centre for University Development) have shown: the industrial engineering programs of Pforzheim University have something to be proud of!
The CHE ranking is the broadest and most detailed in Germany evaluating more than 300 Universities and Universities of Applied Sciences in Germany. The results are made public online each year through the Zeit study guide and are also published. They have established themselves as a very helpful guide to German university degree programs amongst prospective students.
The studies were awarded an overall grade of “excellent” by our students. In particular the votes of the students highlighted the diversity and interdisciplinarity of the lectures, the first-class laboratory facilities, the IT infrastructure as well as the support provided when searching for internships and topics for final theses. The mentoring of students by lecturers was awarded a grade of “good” as were the categories “studiability” and “practical orientation”.
Furthermore, the industrial engineering department of Pforzheim University gained a top position in the newly-introduced category “international orientation” which focuses on the developments of continuing world globalization. This category was not assessed by students but was based on a detailed analysis of curricula as well as the general requirements for international exchange at the University. The percentage of foreign language lectures and credits from foreign mandatory modules, compulsory semesters abroad, partner programs with international universities, an internationally-mixed team of lecturers and a multicultural student body are some of the factors which were taken into account.
This result clearly demonstrates that the introduction of the two study programs with an international focus - WI/International Management and WI/Global Process Management has given Pforzheim University an edge over other German universities and it has thus taken a clear leap forward.

The graduates of the industrial engineering program in Pforzheim gained 4th position in the Germany-wide rankings and thus have excellent career prospects within German enterprises.
