Recently appointed professor: Henning Hinderer  

The latest addition to the Industrial Engineering Department  

“The main reason I was lured into becoming a Professor was to share some of the experience I have gained during my professional career with young people”, commented Henning Hinderer on his move to Pforzheim University. He has lectured in International Technical Sales and International Business for Industrial Engineering students since summer semester 2011.

Born and raised in Stuttgart, he went on to study Mechanical Engineering at Stuttgart University majoring in Technology Management and Biomedical Technology. During this time he spent longer periods in the USA. Upon completion of his engineering degree, he worked for an automotive supplier in Spain and not only gained invaluable work experience but also perfected his already excellent Spanish speaking skills. On returning to Germany he worked as an academic assistant on various European research projects at the Fraunhofer Institute for Work Management and Organization in Stuttgart-Vaihingen, and was also head of the press and public relations department. During the same period he wrote his thesis on the topic of “cross-company cooperation in technical sales” for which he was awarded his doctorate in 2005.

Prior to lecturing at Pforzheim University he worked for Mieschke Hofmann and Partners, a subsidiary of Porsche AG, where he was head of the procurement and logistics department. His main career role involved sales projects as well as process and IT consulting for national and worldwide projects in the automobile industry.

Henning Hinderer has gained invaluable experience having worked as a freelance instructor and guest lecturer. Moreover, he has also worked on numerous research and development projects.

“I am looking forward to lecturing as well as overseeing projects with students. and facing any challenges which will come my way”, stated Henning Hinderer about his new career as a professor.
