MBAE Alumnus receives Polyrack Tech-Group Prize
Development of an Innovative Risk Management System
Christoph Kolb received the Polyrack-Tech-Group prize for his excellent thesis in the Business Administration and Engineering Master study program at the Pforzheim University prize ceremony. Every spring students are awarded prizes for exceptional performance by famous enterprises and institutions in the region.
In his final thesis he addressed the development of risk management systems for medium-sized enterprises and designed a risk management tool based on theoretical principles and a comprehensive expert study of RIMBABS. This system not only takes into consideration financial risks but also includes a holistic approach to a wide range of enterprise risks. He successfully developed an excel-based tool which allows precise measurement and quantification of risks.
Professor Dr. Hans-Georg Köylmayr supervised the Master’s thesis. He himself has been researching the topic of quality and risk management for many years.
After his dual-university studies at the Karlsruhe University of Cooperative Education Christoph Kolb chose to complete his postgraduate studies in Business Administration and Engineering at Pforzheim University. He worked as an academic assistant in the industrial engineering department during his studies. After his graduation in winter semester 2009/2010 Christoph Kolb joined EnBW Regional AG at their regional centre in Tuttlingen as a consultant for communes and services. In the meantime he has been promoted within the company. Since this spring he has worked as team leader at EnBW.

What I found especially valuable was the opportunity I was given during my studies to gain a great deal of experience in project management. The prize for my Master’s thesis is now the icing on the cake for my time in Pforzheim”, Christoph Kolb was ecstatic on receiving his award.
