We are very pleased that you are interested in the study program Economics (VWL) at Pforzheim University.
The importance of Economics for the industry and companies is the daily topic in the media, no matter if it is about business trend, globalization or the international financial crisis. How understandable and interesting this topic can be, is not so obvious from the start – however it is in Pforzheim. In 2008 the Economics teaching staff was awarded the Team-Teaching-Award as second team overall at Pforzheim University. We are very proud of it, and it motivates us even more to improve our teaching and academic work, which all economists practice intensively in their fields of specialization. Academic working in applied research and discussions in professional journals are both further training and essential basics for an excellent and up to date teaching. We also deal with important and related Economics topics such as Business and Corporate Ethics, which are taught in Pforzheim in a Bachelor elective course and in other courses as well. Students have a lot of possibilities to participate: first of all, in Courses and Lectures, but as well as tutors, student assistants for professors or in the framework of an Economics scholarship.
