Institute of Jewellery Technology (STI)
The Institute of Jewellery Technology at Pforzheim University is one of the establishments financed by the county of Baden-Württemberg, the jewellery industry and regional institutions. Jewellery producers can find innovative support in the area of technology at this centre of excellence for jewellery production and precious metals.
In addition the Institute meets the needs of modern industrial manufacturing processes according to the requirements of the jewellery industry and contributes towards the optimization of conventional production processes in the manufacture of jewellery. Thereby new technologies often open innovative design opportunities and give the industry an impetus.
The STI possesses the most modern machines and equipment and helps companies to solve pressing production problems through its expert research methods. Especially in demand are metallographic examinations, strength tests and analysis with the raster electronic microscope.
Further activities of the STI are training classes on incorporating IT systems procedures in the area of production and materials. The STI supports the marketing activities of the jewellery industry and communicates innovative technology at home and abroad.
