Current MBA class meets MBA-Alumni

Sharing experiences and networking – that’s why several MBA-Alumni returned to their “Alma Mater” Pforzheim University on May 21st to meet the students of our current MBA class. In an introduction session our MBA Alumni introduced themselves to our current MBA students and reported both on their time in the MBA program and on their professional experiences afterwards.

Madhwendu Shekhar from India –  one of the first Indian students in our MBA program who graduated in 2003  - looked back at his time in the MBA-IM and pointed out that he profited a lot from the program contents as well as from the multi-cultural atmosphere in class. Today he works for Infosys, a large multinational IT services company headquartered in Bangalore, and supports the MBA-IM team as a guest lecturer. Yamel Lima Baquero from Mexico, also a graduate of 2003, works for Daimler AG in Stuttgart as a project manager. Speaking perfectly German today she encouraged the students to try to learn German also as good as possible when studying at Pforzheim University. Patrick Planing (Daimler AG, 2006 MBA graduate) highlighted how stimulating studying in an international program was for him as a German student. In particular the semester abroad (mandatory for graduates from German universities) which he spent at the University of Brighton was a very valuable experience for him. Philipp Heim also reported from a very instructive and exciting study period abroad in Singapur. After the MBA-IM he then successfully founded his own company for renewable energy. Aliaksei Spas benefited from the opportunity to take part in the MBA-IM program as a part-time student while working for Instictools in Stuttgart. Dr. Reha Tözün from Turkey who works for the Stuttgart Region Economic Development Corporation, even did a doctoral degree after his MBA-IM studies at Pforzheim University.

After the round of introductions our MBA students took the opportunity to talk to our MBA Alumni personally while sharing a drink and a pizza. They showed great interest in the lives and careers of their predecessors. “It was very motivating and stimulating for us to listen to the experiences of the MBA Alumni and to see how they made their way”, that’s what many of our current MBA students said and felt at the end of the event.
