BASF Informs MBA Students about Career Opportunities
Following an invitation by Prof. Kai Alexander Saldsieder, who is responsible for Company Contacts and Projects and teaches Marketing and Business Development in the MBA, Mr. Martin Wolf of BASF came to Pforzheim to inform about the various job opportunities BASF offers for MBA students worldwide. BASF is the world’s largest chemical company with subsidiaries all over the world. It employs 109,140 people and has a turnover of 64 billion € p.a. (2010).
After an introduction of BASF, Mr. Wolf talked about his career at the company which started 10 years ago in a BASF subsidiary in Asia where he wrote his Master thesis. After eventually working for six years for BASF in several Asian countries, he came back to Germany to lead different units in the company. Currently he is Head of Performance Management Crop Protection Europe.
Mr. Wolf explained that because of the company’s size, product diversity and international orientation, BASF offers job opportunities for students and graduates with very different backgrounds. Employees have very good chances to climb the career ladder within BASF, if not in the current department, then by switching to the many different units or subsidiaries.
At the end of his presentation, Mr. Wolf talked to students and advised them on how to apply at BASF.
